LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. — Tony "Dyna" Montoni, passed away suddenly on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010.
He was born Aug. 5, 1922 in Beverly to Congetta and Antonio Montoni. He was a lifelong resident of Beverly until he moved to Lake Havasu City in 1979.
He was married in Beverly to his beloved wife, Patricia of 57 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War ll and was aboard the USS Franklin when it made history from its attack by a kamikaze plane in the Pacific. Upon that he received his letter of commendation for "in the face of raging fires and further enemy attack... his courage, loyalty and devotion to duty." After the war he owned his own business as a mason and was well respected as a master craftsman.
He was generous with his time and incredible talents doing many things for many people. He is the epitome of the definition of the "greatest generation"; a man true to his principles, integrity, and devotion to his family, friends, and country. He will be deeply missed for his giving, loving nature, and his ability to make people laugh.
Antonio is survived by his wife, Patricia (Ganey) Montoni; daughter, Donna Ambrifi of Santa Rosa, Calif.; sons, Anthony of Gloucester, Christopher and his wife Eileen of Alexandria, Va.; as well as eight loving grandchildren, Sylvie, Emilie, Colette, Jason, Matthew, Brett, Nicholas and Rachel; his brother, Phillip; sisters, Katherine P. Bunk, Margaret Colantoni, Beatrice Henebury, and Constance Theriault; as well as many nieces and nephews. Dear Auntie Pat, Tony, Donna and Chris,
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I will always remember warm summer nights and taking a walk over the hill to visit and seeing Uncle Dyna sitting on the front stoop all tan and exhausted from a long day working in the sun, he still had his sense of humor and would sing "dyna won't you blow the horn" with me.
Love you neice Jennifer (Henebury)Bond.
