Tony will be missed by many. His love of family, brave sacrifices to protect our freedom here in the United States of America, and his strong, unwavering faith in God set him apart from many. He was quick to offer words of inspiration, and brought an energy and enthusiasm that was contagious, such that in his presence you felt lighter. He made us laugh, and he was there during one too many sad times, making many of us feel stronger in his presence. He will be deeply missed. Sending so much love to his wife Tracy, his courageous daughter Alexa, his 'best friend' and son Chad, daughters Kari and Ashley, his son Brandon, and his mom, siblings, and all those who loved him. We will miss you Tony Vega.

To my Family -
You make me so proud. These tough times really do show how strong our family is even though it may be small and sometimes distant. Uncle T will be shinning down on us everyday now to remind us that it is most important in life to never give up on finding a life that you're passionate about and also one that you enjoy. I love you Uncle T-Bone!
Love,
Abby

"You never really leave a place that you love... part of it you take with you... leaving a part of you behind."
Tony will always be with you and Alexa. Open your heart and eyes and every day you will be reminded in some way, he is there. A feather, a penny, a butterfly, he is there.
My heart aches for you both, and I wish there were some magic words to make it better, but I know all too well there are none.
Please know though that I am here for you always.
Tony, a man of worth, I will miss you...

There is a saying that the brightest stars fade too quickly and people who shine the most are taken from us far too early. Tony will be watching over you and his light will guide you through this darkness.

I wish I had the words to take this pain away. Sadly, I do not. What I can and will do, is be here and wipe your tears, listen to your stories, lift you up when you need it and make you laugh on those days when it seems impossible. I love you guys.

I remember the day my friend told me all about you. How her face would light up with a glow of excitement when she mentioned your name. I remember the day my friend came to me and told me she was expecting your baby, when all odds were against that dream happening for her. I remember your wedding day. Feeling so honored to be there and seeing my friends dreams come true. I remember the day Tracy showed me your rosary and how in awe of it I was of its beauty. I remember our conversations about God, and the Holy Spirit and the comfort I felt that I had a friend in Christ. I remember how you would ask me how Mark & the girls were with the utmost sincerity in your voice. The last time I saw you, you pulled your little scissors out of your pocket and trimmed a string I had hanging off my blouse. You were unique, intense, passionate and yes a force. I will miss laughing with you. Hearing you call Mark, Marco. Thank you for your friendship, for showing Tracy nothing is too hard to overcome and for giving her beautiful Alexa. May you rest in a Gods eternal peace. Until we meet again my Brother in Christ.

Thank you Tony for always being a great friend. Thank you for sharing many great memories with our family. And thank you for serving our country. I will never forget one of our last conversations together in which we both expressed how blessed we were in being married to the most beautiful sisters in the world. Please tell Dena how much I love and miss her. I will miss you as well. We will all be together again one day in the most beautiful place. As I mentioned to you before eventually all things merge into one and a river runs through it. I love you brother.

Tracy,
I cannot begin to imagine the emptiness and pain you feel---I pray the Lord will hold you and carry you through this sadness, loneliness and heartache. Know that you are deeply loved and are always surrounded by those who are there for you in any capacity (as I know you have experienced already.) But as well, the love of so many who have passed-on also surround, protect and lift you. I'm sure you feel that too.
Whenever you have asked me to describe you in one word, I've always said you are a woman of 'strength,' even when you laughed at my analysis. Once again, it has proven accurate. But know that it is ok to let others in to help carry your load.
You are a wonderful role model for Alexa --- that has been proven over and over this past month. Your miracle child has all the necessary tools to guide her into adulthood to be a decent human being.
That credit goes to you and Tony. Life lessons are not easy, but the fact that she has learned how to (by example) be a child of the Lord, to be honest, loyal and good hearted....as well, inherited the techniques to persevere through life's storms, is a true testiment to her upbringing.
Her number one guardian angel will always be with her whispering direction and encouragement in her ear. She is truly blessed.
I am grateful to have known Tony in this life. As we have all defined him, he was one of the most 'passionate' people....in every aspect of life. He will always have a special place in my heart as he gave you, my friend, so much love and an amazing child. I look forward to seeing him again in heaven.

To my 82nd Airborne brother ---
The Warrior:
It takes a righteous man to stand as a warrior
To protect his country and his family without reservation
To never flinch when the odds were insurmountable
To move forward when retreat offered an end to the pain
To face uncertainty and failure with faith and belief
To drive on through life's storms with power and passion
To offer his hand in friendship when it seemed no friend was around
To hold true to the highest standard of moral righteousness
To be a man of courage
To hear the Lords command and to obey his request...
'Tony, I need you, return to the nest'
LEST WE FORGET

Dear Vega Family-
Tony's sudden passing in Atlanta stunned and saddened me beyond description. I cannot imagine your immense sense of loss.
Tony was a Soldier's Soldier and a Green Beret. He always led our posse over at Adcor with great spirit, patriotism, and good humor. I will miss him greatly, as he was a terrific friend and human being.
The nation is indebted to him and his family. May his memory be eternal and may he rest in peace.
