Archibald PROTZ Obituary

Published by Saskatoon StarPhoenix on Oct. 8, 2014.
PROTZ, Archibald (Archie)
It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my father Archie Protz on Friday, October 3, 2014 at the age of 73 years. My father was predeceased by his parents Mary and Steve Protz. He is survived by Nancy; son Roger; daughter Karla; brother Clarence (Sharon); nephew Trevor (Chelsey) as well as several cousins and many good friends. My father was a devoted, loving father who embraced life and was adored by everyone who met him. He loved golfing, farming, animals, wrestling and hockey. Known for his sense of humour, big heart, and contagious laugh, my father's wish was to remind us that "Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways shouting 'Wow, what a ride!'" My father was my hero and I am proud to be his daughter. Donations in memory of Archie may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8 or the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, 301, 2550 – 12 Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 3X1.

Bill & I are thinking of all the good times we had when Archy was a member of the Case family, of the trip to Hawii. Yes he did have a good sense of humor and an enfectious laugh. Our heats are with you in pray at this time. May Gad bless.

Karla, the words you expressed shows the love you had for your Dad. This love will be embedded in your thoughts and heart forever. It is the kind of love that only a father and daughter have for each other and no one can take that away from you. One day you will be together again and it will continue to be special.
Thinking of you,
Giles

Karla, I am so sorry for your loss. I know the last 10 years have been very difficult but at least you were able to spend time with your Dad when he came to Saskatoon. I have fond memories of our dinners together watching you and your Dad banter and laugh back and forth. I could see how much you both loved each other. Remember, nothing and no one can come between the love of a father and his daughter. Stay strong. I am here for you.

Karla ~ I never had the privilege of meeting your dad but the way that you spoke of him, I know you loved him very deeply. Losing a parent is a painful experience and I'm so sorry for your loss. Your dad must have been so proud to call you his daughter and to see the beautiful person you became. Warmest hugs,
