Lake Charles, Louisiana - Rev. Richard "Rick" Edwards passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021. He was Pastor of Magnolia Baptist Church, Vinton, LA. for the past 5 years. Rev. Edwards was originally from Carthage, MS and resided with his wife Mary in Moss Bluff for the past 30 years.
In passing he leaves his wife Mary; daughter, Tiffany of Jacksonville, OR; son Richard Edwards I of Hattiesburg, MS; brother, Michael Edwards (John) of Covington, LA; sister Cathy Barnes (Gearld) of Carthage, MS.
Bro. Rick pastored and preached in many churches throughout the U.S. for the past 50 years. He was a retired USPS contractor for 20 years.
A memorial service will he held at Magnolia Baptist Church, Vinton, LA at 1:00pm Sunday, November 21, 2021 With Rev. Bruce Baker, Carey Baptist Associate Director officiating, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff.
Funeral services will also be held at Wilcox Funeral Home in Carthage, MS on Saturday November 27, 2021 with Rev. Gerald Simmons and Rev. Junior Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Rocky Point Baptist Cemetery. There will be a visitation on Saturday from noon until service time at the funeral home.
