Paul Bennett Paul Bennett, 83, of Henderson, died Friday, December 7, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville after suffering a brain aneurysm two days earlier. Mr. Bennett was a lifelong resident of Henderson County. He grew up in Zion and graduated from Hebbardsville High School. Mr. Bennett spent most of his working life driving a truck. He also owned and operated Pearson's Tavern from 1964 until 1972. After he sold the tavern, Mr. Bennett joined Lewis Brothers Bakeries (Bunny Bread) in Evansville as an over-the-road tractor-trailer driver. He retired from Lewis Brothers in 1991. Even in "retirement," Mr. Bennett continued working, and served as a driver for local lawyers and a transporter for local car dealerships. Most recently, Mr. Bennett was a transporter for Henderson Chevrolet and made trips as recently as two weeks ago. Mr. Bennett was a horse racing fan and an avid gardener who took pride in and fussed over his tomato crop. He shared his tomatoes and other vegetables with friends and neighbors. His wife, Jean, died in February 2009, and their son, Kevin, died in 2001. Mr. Bennett is survived by: 2 Daughters: Raye Ann McNeish and husband Wayne Henderson, KY Jo Bennett and partner Molly Kellogg Philadelphia, PA 3 Sisters: Mary Sue Kries Georgetown, KY Mildred Connaway Henderson, KY Martha Cline and husband Bobby Bowling Green, KY 2 Brothers: Harry Bennett and wife Sug Robert Bennett and wife Virginia Both of Henderson, KY 3 Grandchildren: Drew Hopson, Brea Rich, Melissa Bennett 2 Step-Grandchildren: Tiffany Basham, Kristin McNeish 3 Great Grandchildren: Laynie, Cooper, and Jillian 3 Step-Great Grandchildren: Zach, Riley, and Reese Nieces and Nephews Relatives and friends are invited to Paul's Life Celebration® from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, December 10, 2012 and again on Tuesday starting at 8:00 AM at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at11:00 AM on Tuesday Benton-Glunt Funeral Home with the Reverend Anne Sheffer officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY.
