Arla Donna Brown Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 21, 2024.
Arla Donna Brown, 83 years old was born February 7, 1941, in Los Angeles, California to parents John and Izola Webb. She went peacefully to meet our heavenly father on December 3, 2024, while surrounded by her loving family. In life, she was always the life of the party and had a fabulous personality. She was quick-witted and loved to make people laugh. She could not resist making hilarious unfiltered comments just to get a stunned reaction out of someone. This is what made her so memorable and loved by anyone that met her. She will be most remembered as a very loving devoted wife and mother and a kind and generous person. She married the love of her life Wayne Brown (Brownie) at the Silver Bells Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas in 1957. Upon her passing, they were 2 weeks shy of their 67th wedding anniversary. Arla and Brownie resided in California with their children until moving to Las Vegas in 1969. Soon after, they opened their own business (Brownie's Appliance Service), where she ran the day-to-day operations for 20 years. They later retired and moved to Alton, Utah, where they built a cozy cabin on 2 acres and resided there for 25 years. They spent 4 years in her husband's hometown of Romney, W. VA to help care for his mother. Then moved back to Las Vegas to be closer to their children and grandchildren. She loved cooking, canning, sewing, antiques, listening to the old crooner's music, and especially enjoyed listening to her husband sing and record music. Her family was her life. She parented with a firm but loving hand. You knew you were in big trouble if she called you by your first and middle name. She'd have that stern fearsome look in her eyes that would stop you in your tracks and shaking in your boots. She protected her kids fiercely in all situations but made sure they were raised with respect and love for others. She will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts. Arla is preceded in death by her parents, her sons, Wayne Brown, Jr. and Anthony Brown, her grandson, Roger Valdez, II, her sisters, Darlene Noonan and Grace Moreno. She is survived by her husband Wayne Brown, her children Karol Torres (David), Robin Whitten, Jenny Brown, Timothy Brown (Mauricio), Richard Brown (Rochelle), 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, sisters, Mary Stahl, Nancy Watson, Carol Wadlow, as well as many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held on January 4, 2025. at 11:00 a.m. at Emerald at Queensridge, 891 S. Rampart Blvd. Las Vegas, Nevada. If you will be attending, please email at [email protected].

I will always remember our conversations about life, love, triumphs and loss. Arla was a dear friend who loved her family, friends, and country. Her infectious smile and hearty laugh lit up the room. Rest easy my friend. You are forever in my heart.

She was a feisty one, especially when you kids drove her crazy around the house in your younger days.
Love and hugs to the Brown Family.
