I admired her during our HS days in Ridgewood; she was very capable and involved. Life intervened and we reconnected only after my 15 years of computerized searching - in 2014. We caught up in the 2 years she had left and I found her just as expected: an amazing gifted and friendly person. I wish we had had more time to chat.
I give thanks that her son chose to contact me and keep me in the loop during her last 2 months.
Arlene was a true "class act".

Arlene was a close friend for 36 years. We cooked together, talked, shared our families' accomishments, visited one another, and by keeping in touch all these years enjoyed our strong friendship.
She was a wise, extremely bright, caring woman, a fantastic mother, and grandmother, a very dear friend who will be sorely missed by all who had the priviledge of knowing her.

Arlene hired me at the age of 20 with no experience and no degree. She believed in me and taught me so many things. I was blessed to have known her and thank God she was a part of my life. 16 years later I am still in the same field and using tools she taught me so many years ago. She was an amazing women that saved so many lives.

I knew Arlene from BWMC. She was a fantastic advocate for her patients. A respected colleague and beloved friend to so many. She will be missed by all who knew here. I am very sorry for your familiy's loss.

I met Arlene a number of years ago when I began working at the Maryland Board of Nursing. She was a member of the Rehabilitation Committee for nurses with substance issues. Arlene was firm but always professional. She will be greatly missed by those she worked with as well as helped in her profession. Prayers to her family.

I had the pleasure of working under Arlene at Hope House and working with her on getting help for addition patients. She is, to me, the epitome of a Nurse. Always there willing to help, a no-nonsense get it done RIGHT kind of girl, I think she was a wonderful Lady and our world will miss someone as devoted to her calling as she was. RIP Nurse angel on Earth.

To Arlene's family: I first met Arlene when she was the nursing director at Hope House and I was the nursing director at Pathways- sometime in 1995. Over the last twenty years we had a professional relationship through her work at BWMC and in the community. Arlene was one of the strongest advocates for those with substance use disorders, and would go to the ends of the earth to help people get treatment. She and I often put our heads together to solve problems, get advice from each other, or just laugh at what was funny. The field has lost a strong woman and a fabulous nurse. We will miss her.
