Armando Barreto Obituary

Published by San Jose Mercury News/San Mateo County Times on Nov. 8, 2012.
Armando G. Barreto
June 16, 1924 - October 23, 2012
Resident of San Bruno
Armando passed away peacefully at his home in San Bruno on Tuesday, October 23 at the age of 88, after a six month battle with cancer. He was born on June 16, 1924 to Daniel F. Barreto and Margret Barreto of San Francisco and graduated from Galileo High School. Shortly thereafter he was drafted and served with the 8th Air force, with basic training in Tennessee. He was sent overseas to England, and became a military policeman at American air bases N.E of London. In July 1945 he returned home via the Queen Mary, and was on a troop transport to the West coast when the War ended in the Pacific.
Armando was a loyal employee of P.G. E. and retired after 30 years of service. After retirement he continued to work with Hertz. He was a resident of San Bruno for 40 years. He was a kind, loving and devoted husband to Katherine and a patient and generous father, who was modest and unselfish.
Armando is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Katherine; his children George and Marti; and their beloved spouses Angie and Greg. He also leaves behind his brother Daniel and sister Lydia Stage and his sister-in-law Helen Gughemetti, along with many nieces and nephews. A private service will be held.

My name is Ken Flemings and I am searching for George Baretto. We were childhood friends. I am saddened to see that his father passed away recently. I would love to get in touch with George.
