Armin Hayden Obituary
Mr. Hayden was born Oct. 8, 1918 in Bristol Virginia to the late Frank Daniel Hayden and Bessie Lee McCracken Hayden. He was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Hayden was a member and former president of Goodson Lions Club. He was also a member of the Woodman of the World and retired from Reynolds Aluminum. He was an avid bowler, hunter and fisherman. He was of the Christian faith.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Kenneth Hayden, John Hayden, Frank Hayden and Willie Gene Hayden, and one sister, Gladys Cole.
Mr. Hayden is survived by one son, Michael Robert Hayden of Bristol Virginia; one daughter, Debra Smith and husband Steve of Bristol Virginia; two granddaughters, Annie Smith and Lindsay Smith, both of Bristol Virginia; two brothers, Carl Hayden of Bristol Tennessee and Page Hayden of Bristol Virginia; five sisters, Alta Handy, Margaret Leonard, Ethel Widner, all of Bristol Virginia, and Dorothy Taylor and Pearl Stevens, both of Bristol Tennessee; former wife, Virginia Hayden of Bristol Virginia; and special friend, Julie Farrell of Bristol Tennessee.
The funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2007, in the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, with Pastor Darrell Harmon officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. in the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service Saturday, June 23, 2007, prior to funeral time. Interment service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, June 24, 2007, in the Colonial Chapel Mausoleum on the grounds of Forest Hills Memory Gardens, with Pastor Darrell Harmon officiating and military rites will be conducted by Highlands Veterans Honor Color Guard.
