Arnold C. Hanson, 86, formerly of Randall, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Bethany Manor in Story City, Iowa. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 27th at 10:30 a.m. at Elim Lutheran Church in Randall. There will be a visitation of family and friends on Friday, February 26th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bethany Manor Chapel in Story City. Burial will be at a later date at Story City Municipal Cemetery. Arnold C. Hanson was born January 2, 1924 to Lars A. and Lena (Charlson) Hanson one mile north of Randall, Iowa. He graduated Randall High School in 1942 and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Arnold and Maryellen Lindsay were married June 5, 1983. He loved animals and farming, retiring in 1991. He was lifelong member of Elim Lutheran Church in Randall and a member of the Story City American Legion Post #59. Arnold enjoyed as hobbies fishing and hunting. Arnold is survived by his wife Maryellen of Story City; his daughter Lu Ann (Robert) Foster of Mason City, Iowa; his sons Marty (Ann) Jensen of Ellsworth, Iowa and Lance (Tina) Jensen of Gretna, Nebraska; one brother Irvin Hanson of Wexford, Pennsylvania; one sister Edith Fleming of Roland, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Justin, Curtis, April, Lindsay, Brayden, Alexis, Abbe, and Courtney; two great-grandchildren Isaiah and Hunter; many nieces and nephews; and good family friend Renee Ryan. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son David Jensen; two brothers LeRoy Hanson and Orlin Hanson; and two great-grandsons Sebastian and Ryan.
