Arnold Hodas Obituary
Raised in Brooklyn, Dr. Hodas attended Colgate University and New York Medical College. He served as a Lieutenant in the US Navy, then pursued advanced studies in psychiatry, culminating in a psychoanalytic degree from Columbia University. He established a distinguished psychiatric practice in Scarsdale..
Dr. Hodas shared 68 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Barbara.
Dr. Hodas was an enthusiast of golf and fly fishing, a connoisseur of technology, an avid reader, a wine enthusiast, and piano player He enjoyed travel and Broadway theater. He was known for his wit and storytelling, with a particular talent for delivering jokes in a wide range of accents.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Michael Blumen, and Lauren and Andrei Cernea; grandson and partner, Evan Harry Cernea and Harry Van der Kloot; granddaughter, Dylan Stela Cernea; and numerous nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces, all of whom he loved deeply and dearly.

I am deeply saddened by the news of Arnold´s passing. I have known him since I was 29 years old when I became a patient of his through the psychoanalytic clinic at Columbia Hospital. He was a tremendous support in my life over many decades. My deepest condolences to his family Who he often mentioned and who he dearly loved. He was supportive, intelligent, funny ,insightful, and compassionate. I feel very lucky to have had him in my life. I shall miss him very much.
