If I had to describe my grandpa to someone I would say: Tough, hard working, funny, friendly, caring, helpful, smart, loves music, talented, great teacher, brave very brave, there are not enough words to describe him. I guess thats why I miss him so much!! So many great times together. I cant really pick my favorite time because they were ALL awesome. My mom says nobody can ever take away your memories, thats good because then I will never forget my Grandpa Arnie!
You are always in my heart. I will never forget you!!
Love Nick

I remember every time I came over to visit you guys, you would always sing Danny Boy but change the lyrics to Danny Girl, seeing as I liked to go by Dani. It would always make me smile because I thought it was pretty funny. I wasn't able to spend as much time with you as I wanted, working two jobs during the summer then leaving to go to college. I wish I would've chosen a closer school, a community college for instance, so I could have spent more time with you. I love you grandpa and I miss you! I will never forget about you and our memories together!
Love, Dani

Papa,
I will always be thinking about you. I will dream about you. I will love you forever. I will miss you forever. I will always keep you in my heart. I love you Papa! You are the bestest Papa. I loved going to your house and you would take care of me and take me to the park. I want to let you know that Santa got me a brand new bike for Christmas. I don't have training wheels on my bike.
I LOVE YOU PAPA and I will come visit you a lot.
Love,
Shelby

I loved my grandpa very much. We would always make breakfast when i would sleep over, he made us sausage and eggs or bacon and eggs which were both very good foods together. We also stayed in the garage and worked cleaned and every once and a while have a good pop. My favorite tv channel to watch with him was DIY it was fun sitting around just hanging out. He also always had a computer for me and my sister. we played on that a lot in our free time. I was always very interested in his collection of toy airplanes and helicopters he had although at the time i would have to stand on a chair or something to see them. We also played the guitar together. He had a couple of his own guitars and a smaller one that i would play for me and my sisters and cousins. I had a lot of fun last year in his last year of hunting. right before he started hospice he made a fish house with my dad and i to use for ice fishing but never got to use it. I think he was looking forward to going ice fishing though. I loved what he would also say all the time like ''be right back'' when he would say that he would make a sign with his hands. during the day he would take a nap too with me. if i woke before him i would just turn on DIY. ''Do It Yourself". once he retired i spent more and more time with him.He also was very funny and had very good jokes. My favorite thing to do with him is to go snowmobiling. Although i haven't snowmobiled with him in a while now. My dad has told me many snowmobiling stories including my grandpa. more stories will come. All of the sports i like he likes too. I Loved camping with him he would go camping at Cokato Lake every weekend. We would go fishing on that lake and he took us tubing tried to teach me and my sister how to waterski. I loved him A LOT. i will miss him and be thinking of him. I love you grandpa!!!!!!!
Love,
      Austin

My Grandpa was the best for jokes and love. I remember he asked me "I can give you guitar lesson and I said sure". So he gave me a GUITAR! I was nervous because i never really played and it was just me and my grandpa. But he got weaker so we had to stop but he even got weaker. I sometimes went to the doctors with him. He was so brave and I remember when the nurse would use his port. He would say "man your good!" We went out for ice cream and we both had vanilla malts, we are alike because thats our favorite flavor!!! But then it got to hospice it was so hard to look at him in the bed he sometimes said to my grandma "I have to get up" my grandma would said "were do you have to go?" he said "I have to get out of this bed." I say prayers every night to him. I love you Grandpa and will never forget you!!!!!!

Over the past week there was all kinds of memories going through my mind. There is so much I could say about Arnie, he was such a wonderful caring man. I had the honor of knowing him for 16 short years and every memory I have will be cherished. He welcomed Danielle and I into the family as if we were always a member and I am honored to become one of his daughters. He enjoyed going snowmobiling, he took up the rear end and was always there taking care of me when I needed it and boy did I need it at times! Going camping he was always prepared, if you did not have something, you are pretty much guaranteed Arnie had what you needed. He loved every minute of camping and was always there to give a helping hand to those around him. He truly enjoyed spending those precious times taking the grandkids to see the animals, golfing, fishing, boating and even ice cream. He was one to get down on the floor and play games, puzzles, read books to them and that they will never forget. He was a teacher in my book and they gained his knowledge that they will carry with them the rest of their life. He also loved doing PAPA daycare! He adored and cherished every minute of it, even though some days may have been more challenging than others. Those days with Papa will forever be treasured with the kids. Sitting with Arnie on those days when Arlene went to work will always be special to me. I was glad to be able to be with him and have talks and watch westerns or listen to classical country. Arlene, even though Arnie is not with you he will always be in your heart and your love for each other is a special bond that is truly an inspiration to us all. I love you Arnie and I will miss you.

Arlene, Dean and Brian,
You have lost such a great man. Arlene he loved you so much, you were the twinkle in his eye. You cared for him till the end and I know you would have for a lifetime. You were always concerned that you were not doing a good enough job. You did a wonderful job. Just remember he called you a "professional". You two are such an example of soul mates. That is what I call TRUE LOVE. Husband and wife, best friends!!! Arnie was a charmer also, I see where you boys get your charm. Dean and Brian your dad was so proud of you guys. He taught you so many tricks of the trade and such great morals. Your dad was always helping someone, he never had to be asked to help. Both of you are the same way, always willing to help people. You grew up to be the men that your dad was proud to say "Those are my boys". Cheerish the memories, nobody can ever take those away. Laugh at the stories and keep telling them so all of the grandkids will remember what an awesome Grandfather he was. I knew Arnie for 25 years and enjoyed every minute of it!!! I have learned so much from Arnie in the last 22 months. The time we spent together during doctor appointments and chemo therapy was priceless. We both didnt want to be there, but we made the best of it. Such great stories! He would talk about the grandkids and all of you. Everything he did was for his family. What I wouldnt do right now to have that time with him, one more time and see that smile he would give me everytime I saw him. He told the doctors and nurses I was his daughter when he introduced me and I will never forget it. Arnie I am proud to be your daughter and you will always have a special place in my heart forever.
