Arsenia Diaz Soto Sr., 93, of New Fairfield passed away Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011 at her home. She was the wife of the late Emilio Soto Sr. Born June 25, 1918 in Antofagasta, Chile, she was the daughter of the late Octaviano and Blanca Rosa Alegre Diaz. Arsenia, along with her parents and siblings, immigrated to the United States in the late 1920's and resided in New York City for several decades. She became a loved member of the New Fairfield community in 1963. A well-known friend of the Candlewood Theater; she always fondly remembered the people she met and worked with there.

Beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother, she is survived by her children: Yolanda Soto Durham, and her husband, Gary, of Westport. Emilio Soto, Jr and his wife, Roseanne, of New Fairfield. Elisa Soto Endara, and her husband, Jose, of Rochelle Park, NJ. Her sister, Doris LaVigne and her husband, Paul, of River Edge, NJ. 18 grandchildren, six by marriage, and nine great-grandchildren also survive. Arsenia's vibrant spirit and love for her family will always in in our hearts.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11am at St. Peter Church, Danbury, with the Rev. Gregg D. Mecca, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Gerow Cemetery, New Fairfield, CT. Friends will be received on Friday from 4-8pm at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
