So sorry for the loss of this great man, father, grandfather and great grandfather among so many other things. Never had the pleasure of meeting him but through some of his family felt as though I did know him. May the good Lord see you through this time of grief and comfort your hearts. Did not know about this until today January 31st 2013. Sorry about the delay.

My sympathy to Tommy, Bradley, Nancy and Marilyn and all of your families. It seems like just a few short years ago that we lived only a couple of blocks away and I would visit with you and your mom and dad. I was always made to feel welcome in your home and I always admired your parents. I will always remember your dad making "house calls" and visiting me in the hospital after an accident. A compassionate and caring man, just the "stuff" that doctors are made of. May your memories make your days easier.

I remember going to see Art when I was a little girl. Art is my Great Uncle. I am Alex Monroe Martin's granddaughter. I was able to see Art at his birthday party at the Trolly house last year. He was a great man & will certainly be missed. I do wish I could have been at the funeral. I'm sending prayers to the rest of the family. I know he is in Heaven now & having a reunion with granddaddy & other family.

I never knew nor ever meet Dr. Martin but am blessed by knowing his grandson Nathan Martin and can truthful state, "God has left someone through Dr. Martin's genes that is a living testimony of this wonderful man."
May each of his family know and feel the prayers of many that are being lifted before the throne of Grace as you walk this mixed path of grief and joy...grief in being parted on this earth from someone you love and joy in knowing he is kneeling before his God.

We're so sorry that Dr. Martin is gone. But we know that he's in heaven, sitting on the back row of the choir.

My sincere sympathy goes to the wonderful family of Dr. Martin. You are in my thoughts and prayers. My time spent with your Dad was too short. Try to wipe away the tears and remember the good times.

Serving Dr. Martin was my pleasure at Butterfield Place Retirement. His services to this country and contributions to the community is truly a blessing. His conversations were always full of life. He will be dearly missed.

I grew up next door to Dr. Martin's parents and I have many great memories of those days. But what I respect the most (and strive to emulate in my own way) about Dr. Martin is that he would visit his parents every day at the end of (I'm sure) a very busy day. He always thought of others, respected his parents, and lived a life that has many outstanding qualities. I think about those visits of his a lot. We need more like him, and he will be missed. I had the pleasure of working with Dr.Martin.He was a wonderful physician and an even better person.....he treated people with kindness, compassion, humor and true humility. He personified the Golden Rule. May God richly bless his family and friends with peace and joy in knowing he will (in my opinion) be greeted with, "Well done, good and faithful servant". Sandy Calhoun (Fort Smith, AR)

Dr. Martin was not only a great physician but he was a "real gentleman" . I worked at Sparks for 34 years and I never heard anything negative about Dr. Martin, he always greeted everyone he met in the halls with a smile. He will be greatly missed in the medical community as well as by all who ever knew him. A great person.
