It is now 2014, my love. I thought Christmas would be the hardest but it was New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. I think maybe because that was our time for holding each other and making plans for the coming year. I love you. I so miss our time together.

Art was my friend in Saskatoon at the university and later in Vancouver in the early 70's. We shared many good times from that era; Art was the leader of all the fun back then. I haven't seen him since 1993 but he came to mind just now. He will be missed across generations. David Anderson

Art was our neighbour and we enjoyed many chats across the fence. We were always very envious and interested in the meals he was smoking on his front porch. In the limited way we knew Art, he always brought a smile to our faces when he arrived home in his truck. We will miss living beside such a wonderful man. Our sincere condolences to the family.

My sincere condolences to Wayne, Pat and their families. I was a customer of Art's and feel lucky to have known him. He was always professional and knew how to take care of his customers. I was fortunate enough to see Art in my house in the beginning of February where we discussed various items plus of course the work. Even though I didn't know him for a very long time I'm truly glad to have known him at all.
Pat I have never met you but Art talked about you very lovingly. Take every day as it comes, some days will be better than others - but remember the sun comes up every day no matter what.

Art made such a difference in our lives and we will miss him dearly. My sincere condolences to Wayne, Pat and their families.
As an interior designer, I had the pleasure of meeting Art and his crew a few years ago when we worked on a renovation project together.
He quickly earned my respect with his technical and creative knowledge on construction and design.
Over the years our professional relationship developed into a friendship and I enjoyed our conversations about food, his stories growing up on the farm, Pat's music career and construction just to mention a few.
I feel fortunate to have spent time driving to High River with Art to a client's home just a few weeks ago. It was a glorious sunny day with a clear view of the mountains, a successful meeting with the client complimented with great conversation.
Art was a likable "character" with endless stories he was always willing to share and a pleasure to work with.
To my "cowboy" contractor.
I raise my glass of scotch and toast to your full and varied life! You will be missed by all.

My sincere condolences Wayne, Wendy and family. I wish I would have had more opportunities to get to know Art better, but the memories I have are of a warm smile and a very friendly man. Wayne, you will always have the memory of having your brother as your best friend, and that is an amazing memory to have. You two were lucky to have each other! He will rest in peace having known that.

Pat, my sincere condolences on the loss of your "Bear". Great memories came flooding back of wonderful meals in your home, "Black Pig" and playing and singing all hours with those crazy Danes. Art was such a gracious person, and his love for you and pride in your career was always evident. Those of us who got to know him, even a little bit, are better for the privilege.

I would like to offer my sincere condolences to Pat, Wayne, Wendy, Mike and to Art's extended family and his many dear friends. I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Art for almost 30 years. We originally met through mutual friends and had the opportunity to become friends first and then business associates for many years. I am truly saddened to hear of Art's passing. It leaves a very large hole in my heart to know he's gone. He was a gentleman, always true to his word and his handshake was his bond. He was unique in today's world. I will miss him very much.

Deepest sympathies to all of Art's family at this sad time. Art was a "one of a kind" gentle soul and was willing to help anyone who needed it. He always had a story to tell, and just last week, was telling me some of his travel stories of the Middle East - where he worked for a period of time. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

I ran into Art by accident at a Stavros jam last August, we stared at each other not knowing but recognizing each other from many years ago. We went outside for a cigar and started talking about old days and all the people we knew past and present, especially the Party Band/ Crackerjack times. He talked about Pat's never ending love of music and entertaining and that's why they were there with their friends, wish I'd known him better.
Deepest sympathy to Pat, family & friends.
