Carpenter, Arthur B., 76, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013. He was born July 22, 1936 to Arthur and Marie (Abildgaard) Carpenter in Arkansas City, KS. Arthur served in the U.S. Army at Fort Sill in Lawton, OK. He worked in the oil industry for his entire working life, mostly at Skelly, Getty, and Texaco. Arthur enjoyed bird hunting, fishing, boating, and playing golf. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Jon Ray Carpenter. Arthur is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jo Ann Carpenter; children, Aaron (Sharolyn) Carpenter and Karla (David) Black;, niece, Trantena (Ron) Severs; grandchildren, Ashley Carpenter, Rebecca Carpenter, Trent Black, and Nic Carpenter; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Funeral: 10 am, Friday, July 26, 2013 at Lakeview Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 330 S. Main St. #100, Wichita, KS 67202.
