Mr. Arthur Demetree was born in Jacksonville, FL in 1941. He moved to Orlando when he was 10 in 1951 and has resided here since, he is a true Floridian. In 1959 he graduated from Bishop Moore High School, followed by 2 years at St. Leo Seminary College. It was in 1961 when he joined the armed forces and he started his 3 year term in the Air Force. Arthur was a lifetime member of the Home Builders Association of Central Florida and loved his HBA family. He also earned a “Green Jacket� for bringing in many members. Art was a member of the Scottish Rite as a 32nd degree Mason, Knights of Columbus and Bahia Shriner’s. Arthur loved fishing and he was always talking and dreaming about catching that “Big� Bass. Art was loved by his family and friends and was the type of guy that never met a stranger. Arthur was preceded in death by his soulmate, Rose Demetree in October 2008. Married in 1985 they celebrated 23 years of life together filled with love and laughter. He is survived by 4 children; Scott Demetree (Dana), Clearwater, Russell Demetree (Cheryl), San Antonio, TX, Betsy Barnwell (Chip), Kansas City, MO and Leanne Demetree Brunton (Michael), Orlando, FL. Arthur was proud to be called Pepaw by 9 grandchildren, Alex, Jacob, Jenna, Matthew, Andrew, Billy, Jillian, Will and Westin. Arthur is survived by 4 siblings, Cecilia Demetree, Orlando, FL, Frances Demetree-Dasher (Art) Orlando, FL, John Demetree (Sharon) Bradenton, FL, Paul Demetree (Ellen) Orlando, FL. Arrangements are being made by Baldwin Fairchild, Lake Ivanhoe chapel. Family will receive friends at the Baldwin Fairchild, Lake Ivanhoe Chapel from 6 pm to 8 pm. Funeral Service will be at 10 am, Wednesday May 13th at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church located at 4001 Edgewater Drive, Orlando, FL 32804.Arthur was so excited about celebrating his 50th class reunion this year at Bishop Moore High School. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Bishop Moore High School 3901 Edgewater Drive, Orlando, FL 32804 or Vitas Hospice of Winter Park 2075 Loch Lomond Drive Winter Park, FL 32792.
