Arthur Kroos III Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 14, 2025.
Redmond - Arthur G. Kroos, III of Redmond, Oregon, died peacefully at home on June 19, 2025, at the age of 82. Born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin on September 25, 1942, he was the son of the late Arthur G. Kroos Jr. and Patricia Raab Kroos. He was a graduate of Washington and Lee University (1964), earned his Juris Doctor at the University of Wisconsin Law School (1970), and his LLM Degree in International Law from the University of Miami School of Law (1973).

Art (also known to family and friends as "Butch") interrupted his law school years to serve in Vietnam, being discharged as Captain in 1969. Once he completed his tour in the military, he finished his legal education, including receiving an LLM in international law from the University of Miami School of Law, and became a corporate lawyer specializing in international law. He worked for Miles Laboratories, Western Electric (AT&T), and spent the majority of his career at Tektronix, Inc. headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon. For the first 6 years at Tektronix, Art lived in Amsterdam serving as their European Counsel. He then moved back to company headquarters, eventually becoming International Counsel, Associate General Counsel.

Art pursued the LLM in International Law to gain the qualifications needed for a career that would allow him to travel. He achieved what he set out to do, and during his life, both on the job and on holiday, saw a great deal of the world and had experiences most of us can only dream of.

While in Amsterdam, Art started For Counsel, Inc., a catalog which sold products and gifts for lawyers, doctors and other professionals. After retiring from Tektronix in 2000, along with traveling and spending the colder Oregon months in warm climates, he focused all of his energy on For Counsel.

Art is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer, step children Katie Davenport (Tyler), Erica Leveille, Brandon Leveille, and Rachel Leveille, grandsons Crew Davenport and Brody Lengfelder, brothers Patrick "Rick" Kroos (Pamela), Christopher "Lucky" Kroos (Glenda), and Steven Kroos (Nancy), nephews Tyler, Brett, Adam and Matt Kroos, nieces Morgan Kroos and Kenzy Lowrie, and several great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts would be appreciated for the National WWII Museum, 945 Magazine St, New Orleans, Louisiana 70130, nationalww2museum.org/.
