Arthur Orkwiszewski Obituary

Arthur B. "Theodore" Orkwiszewski, 78, of East Vandergrift died Tuesday (Oct. 15, 2002) in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Born July 23, 1924, in East Vandergrift, he lived there all his life. A veteran, he served in World War II with the Army in the 457th Fighter Squadron, 506th Fighter Group. He was a hot mill dispatcher at Allegheny Ludlum Steel, West Leechburg Works, retiring in 1983. Mr. Orkwiszewski was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church and the Lithuanian Club, both in East Vandergrift, and Veterans of Foreign Wars in Vandergrift. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Cecilia E. Wawrzyniak Orkwiszewski; two sons, Arthur B. (Terri) Orkwiszewski of Apollo and Joseph J. (Linda) Dimsko of Lower Burrell; a brother, Robert Orkwis of Phoenix and a sister, Mrs. Rose (Michael) Duffer of Leechburg. He also is survived by three grandchildren, Mrs. Tammy (Dan) Marmo of Palm Bay, Fla., and Joey and Jimmy Dimsko, both of Lower Burrell; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Eleanor Rzewnicha Orkwiszewski; and a brother, Alben Orkwis. Visitation will be private at BRADY-CURRAN FUNERAL HOME INC., 429 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift, where services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday. Officiating will be the Rev. Michael J. Sciberras. Burial will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Vandergrift.
