Esther Hickle Obituary
SOUTH BEND - Esther Nora Hickle, 103, passed away at home on Tuesday, May 20, 2008. Esther was born on March 6, 1905, in St. Joseph County, as the daughter of James and Laura (Beron) Glassman. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Marvin Glassman; a niece, Kathryn Lauridson; and a nephew, Russell E. Glassman. On November 22, 1935, in South Bend, she married Simon A. Hickle, who preceded her in death on August 14, 1967. Surviving Esther are a sister, Mildred E Harmon; a niece, Alice J. Terry; a nephew, Kenneth Harmon and Mary Black, all of South Bend, Ruth Wennerstron of Plymouth IN, and Mike Glassman of Lawrenceburg, IN; and by several great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews. Esther was formerly from Lake Bruce in Kewanna, IN. She was a past member of Winamac Church. Visitation will be held today, May 22nd, from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1 p.m. Friday, May 23rd, with Rev. Karl A Brenner officiating. Burial will be at Bremen Cemetery.
