Arthur WOIDAK Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 30, 2003.
WOIDAK, Arthur (Art) Mr. Arthur (Art) Woidak was unexpectedly called Home to our Lord while peacefully sleeping, on Wednesday, December 24th, 2003 at the age of 80 years. God chooses when He wants his angels to come Home and what an honor to have been called at such a special time as Christmas. Art was a devoted loving husband and father, a wonderful caring grandfather, a naturally gifted musician and a true friend to many. Art is survived by his loving wife, Emma Herta Woidak, his daughters, Dorothy (Italo) Pino of Alberta and Sherry (Bill) Cooney of Calgary, Alberta, his son, Richard (Sheryl) Woidak of Prince George, B.C., his grandchildren, Arthur (Tory), Daniel and Lindsey Pino, Stacey and Emily Cooney, Anika and Keanna Woidak, his sisters, Elsa (Oskar) Beck and Wanda Ryll of Germany and many extended family members. Art was born on February 13th, 1923 in Bryshshi, Poland, one of ten children born to Adolf & Emma Woidak, being of German descent. Following the war, he came to join his dear brother, Fred, in Ponoka, Alberta. Soon after arriving there, he met his future wife, Emma Bartell. They were married in 1950 and raised their three children in Edmonton, Alberta. During this time Art worked as a journeyman carpenter, building contractor, business owner and provincial building inspector until his retirement. In 1990 Art & Emma moved to Vernon, B.C. where he spent many wonderful years with family and friends. The Funeral Service will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, 5151-Alain Road, on Wednesday, December 31st, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Roy White officiating. Cremation will follow.
