Arturo Garcia Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 20, 2004.
Arturo Garcia, age 71, entered into rest on Sunday, January 18, 2004. Arturo was born in San Benito, TX, to Alfredo A. Garcia and Anastacia P. Garcia. He was married to Faye Garcia, his devoted wife and caretaker, for 48 years. He fought for his country in the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for 24 years. He loved his family, a good joke and a close football game. The last two years of his life were filled with the joy that only a long-awaited grandchild could bring. We will all miss his sharp wit and love of life that age and illness could not dim. He was preceded in death by his sister, Yolanda G. Ramirez, and his parents, Judge Alfredo A.Garcia and Anastacia P. Garcia. He is survived by his wife, Faye Garcia of San Antonio; his daughter, Linda Garcia and son-in-law, Tom Butler, and grandson, Trent Thomas Butler of Deer Park, TX; brothers, Alfredo Garcia and his wife Maria, Arnoldo Garcia and his wife Lorraine; sisters, Idalia Montalvo and her husband Alfredo, Norma Aten and her husband Gehrie, Mila Salinas and her husband Joe; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Tom Butler, Arnold A. Garcia, Joe Salinas, III, Armando Ramirez, Steve Young and Rueben de la Fuente. Honorary Pallbearers will be Alfredo Garcia, Arnoldo Garcia, Joe Salinas, Jr., Mike Trevena, Reymundo de la Fuente, Guillermo Williams and David Seitz.
