Welch, Dorothy Kathryne Age 88, of Coal City, passed away November 27, 2013. Dorothy was a daughter of the late John and Kate Darin-Baudino and a 1943 graduate of Coal City HS. On April 15, 1951, Dorothy married John Edward Welch, and he preceded her on October 18, 1978. Dorothy retired from Uniroyal after 26 years of service and was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City and the Coal City Seniors. Survivors include her children, Mike (Sherrie) Welch of Bloomingdale and Lynda (Dale) Christensen and Teri "Boo" (Dave) Franciskovich of Coal City; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Jack (Marijayne) Baudino; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, LaVerne Baudino, Steve and Jane Welch, Roni and Jerry Muhich and Josephine Welch; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Dorothy was preceded by her parents; husband John; grandson, David Christensen; great-grandson, Gavin Ulivi; brother, Peter Baudino, and sister, Connie Frye. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 4th from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway in Coal City (815/634-2125). Funeral Mass will follow Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in Assumption Catholic Church, 245 South Kankakee Street, Coal City. Burial will be in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery. Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Dorothy's memory to the Unit #1 Educational Foundation or Angels of Hope, Inc.
