Ashley Nugent Obituary
Ashley was a native of Jacksonville, Florida and was currently residing in Tallahassee. She was a 2008 alumnus of Bishop Kenny High School and a 2012 graduate of Florida State University, Ashley was an active member in her community and a spirited member of a Tallahassee area Public Relations firm. She was an avid dancer and cheerleader and was a vivacious, dynamic young woman who valued her family and friends above all else.
Ashley is survived by her parents, Charles and Roberta Nugent III, her brother, Charles Nugent IV, and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother, Brent Calvin Nugent, paternal grandparents Charles and Marjorie Nugent Jr., and maternal grandmother Grace Katherine Ascolillo.
Family will receive friends and family on Sunday, June 15, 2014 between 4-6 pm at our Beaches Chapel location 1701 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32225. A Rosary will take place at 5pm.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 16, 2014 at 11:00 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1665 Fort Caroline Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32225
The Nugent family is initiating an "ATV Helmet for Safety" Awareness Campaign. In lieu of flowers, they ask that all donations be given to this Campaign. They will provide donation details at a later date.

My heart aches for your lose of a daughter and sister. Ashley was such a warm, caring student when she attended Holy Spirit School. I can still picture her adorable face and lovely smile. Reading the other messages I can see she continued to grow into a lovely lady. May God give you the strength to cope with such an enormous lose of a child. I believe that each and every person we meet, even if only for a moment, serves a purpose in our lives.
Ashley, you're one of those people that I instantly clicked with and loved before I even really got the chance to know you. I am so appreciative for the time I got to spend with you, It was nothing short of unforgettable. You radiate light, love and strength and I know you are continuing to do so on an even more bountiful level for people on this Earth from up above. You offered this world so much joy and impacted peoples lives in a variety of ways. In particular to my life, you have shown me the difference between what it means to be living and what it means to be truly alive.
It is often too easy to rush around and try to prepare for what will happen next. Getting ready for life, worrying about life- not actually being IN life.
Whether it be a good or bad moment, each moment has something special to offer and is a piece of life we can never get back. Embrace life wholeheartedly. Never let an opportunity for positive growth and change pass you by. Forgive yourself, forgive others. Remember to breathe, and with each breath, be grateful.
Let go of fear. Fear hinders us from being alive. It shuts us off from growing in any aspect of our lives, it gets in the way of love, relationships, faith, positive change, adventure, hope.
Our time is limited and our energy is precious, so do things that are good for your soul and spend time with people that add to your life.
Thank you Ashley for being a friend that has added positive energy, laughter, love, adventure, and strength to my life, I will carry those parts of you with me forever. Cheers to you and Freshmen Fridays my beautiful and vibrant angel, I love you.

Ashley, I was blessed to have gotten to know you. You are a bright light and I was so glad you found friendship with my daughters, Amanda and Mackenzie Nichols. I loved having you come over before the BK games, and before dance class. I don't think you were ever in a bad mood; always a smile on your face...actually, a laugh! What a great time we all had in NYC when I took you girls there to dance in the Macy's day parade! You fit right in. You even got your haircut because you had to do that in New York! I was in disbelief to hear of this accident. We all were. And, yes...God has a plan. We would all like to hear what it is, and we will one day. This makes all us parents ponder the lives of our own children, and makes us see that there is no guarantee in life. There's no doubt you're in heaven. I hope I'm worthy enough to see you one day. God is merciful. You were a wonderful girl!

From day one, you were a best friend. Your loving, caring, goofy personality is contagious - you are impossible not to love. We were the AJ's girls and we always had each other's backs when the boys would talk crap. I love you more than words. You were an Angel even on Earth. I'm so blessed to have known you. Ashley & I grew up together at Holy Spirit. I remember riding with her to softball games and having many sleepovers. One of my favorite memories of Ashley is when Bruna came into our class in 3rd grade and Ashley was so welcoming to her, that really has stuck with me throughout the years. Whenever I meet someone who is knew to my school, work, or whatever it might be I try to be as open and welcoming as she was. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone grieving her loss. I will miss Ashley's beautiful face more than anyone will ever know. She was one of my closest childhood friends and some of my greatest memories as a kid were with her. She would always make me feel welcomed with the older kids in her class and would not treat me any different for being "Justin's little sister". She did not know this but when I saw her out in Tallahassee I could not help but be awe struck by her beauty and positive attitude. Everyone loved her and I aspired to be and live like her. I don't understand God's reasonings for why these things happen but I have to trust in his ways no matter how hard it is.She was perfect in every way and truly an angel that God was just ready to give her a set of wings and to help him accomplish more from the sky. I just wish she didn't have to go so soon, but the world is a better place because she was in it. Ashley, I can't describe how blessed I felt to have called you my friend. You were always such an amazing person who was full of life. The sweetiest girl I've have ever come across. It's strange to me how I am having such strong emotions about losing a cousin that I never actually met. Our relationship was completely Facebook based, but I felt as close to her as any of my other cousins. I remember so many times where she would post a picture and thinking "oh yea we're definitely cousins". She was such a beautiful and fun loving person and I think it hurts so much for me because I never got the chance to be in her presence and feel the energy that she brought to her life. Children are a reflection on how they are raised. In Ashley's family, it is apparent that all rearing was impactful in grooming not only Ashley, but her brother Charles.
