ARCHER, HARVEY ALLEN Harvey "Bud" Archer died on March 6, 2008. Bud was born in Pittsburgh, PA on December 4, 1929. He relocated to the San Diego area in 1968 with his wife, Frances and three daughters. He was known as Bud to his family and friends. Bud served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War with the 82nd Airborne receiving 5 bronze stars. After his wife Frances of 48 years passed away, he met and married Maybelle Buell, his companion and wife of 10 years. Bud is survived by his wife, Maybelle, his daughters; Cathy Thomas of Palm Desert, Ellen Smith of Jamul and Cheryl Moffat of San Diego; grandsons Chad and Craig Thomas and five great-grandchildren. Bud's family was left with many fond memories. His never ending smile and sense of humor will be deeply missed. A Memorial Service will be at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery on April 2, 2008, at 1:00 p.m.Please sign the guest book at obituaries.uniontrib.com

We are so very sorry of the loss of your Dad; Ellen, Cathy & Cheryl. He was a very sweet man, and he and Maybelle seemed so happy and "cute" together. We know that you all will miss him dearly. May God bless you and your family at this time.
