Astrid Cawiezel Obituary
She is preceded in death by her first husband of 19 years, Delbert A. Gray of Litchfield, IL. They lived in Killeen for 20 years. She is survived by: two children – Rosie (Gray) and Keith Sandt of Knoxville, TN and Terry and Lisa Gray of Bayside, TX; five grandchildren – Peter Davis, Shawn Neely, Cheryl Neely, Katherine Filkins, and Amber Gray; four great-grandchildren – Brayden Neely, Aden Davis, Carson Davis, Elijah (Eli) Davis.
During her life, she was a member of the German/American Wives Club and served as a scout leader for the Boys Scouts of America. For the last 15 years, she was an active member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 147 Ladies Auxiliary, serving in several offices during her tenure.
Funeral services will be provided by Crawford-Bower Funeral Home. Friends of the family are invited to attend a viewing on Thursday, November 17 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 18 at 1:30 PM in the Chapel followed by the burial at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery (3:00 pm).
In lieu of flowers, donations to her favorite charity, the Second Chance Animal Shelter to aid abused and abandoned dogs and cats, are welcomed.

What an amazing woman, who was so knowledgeable! Astrid was a strong person, who always had a heart of gold. She was a loving aunt, a wonderful seamstress, and would tell you stories like none other. Astrid will be missed dearly. Our heartfelt condolences to Uncle Jerry, Amber and the rest of the family. Our prayers and thoughts are with all of you. Uncle Jerry, we love you very much and we wish we could be there. Mom and Dad will represent us. Love you,
