One whom I learn one word from, I will be his slave – Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him)
I was Professor Fahim's PhD student from 1989 at Ottawa University. He was a knowledgeable professor with exquisite intuition; a dedicated researcher and devoted supervisor; and a true believer in God.
My deepest sympathies and condolences to his dear family, colleagues and friends. I pray that God bless him and rest him in peace.

I did my PhD in mechanical enginerring under Prof Fahim during 1985 to 1989 at Ottawa U and I guess I was his first PhD student. I found Atef a great and generous man. He supported me in every way he could and I learned a lot from him. I think his death is a big loss not only to his family but also to Ottawa U and its mechanical engineering dept. May he rest in peace. Mohammad Mahjoub

No Cry, No Sadness, He is now with Christ. World is full of troubles and fake but our passing through death to live with christ is the only truth. So, Be Happy Dr. Fahim, now you are with Christ and pray for all of us.
God help you to pass this event and to benefit from it.

Our most sincere condolences to Atef's entire family, friends and colleagues at UO. We are deeply saddened by the loss. We gained much from his wealth of knowledge and mentorship through our undergraduate and graduate degrees at UO. He was a class act and had a great sense of humour. He will be sorely missed.
