Ater Manyang Obituary
Ater, 24, of Rochester, passed away on March 18, 2016, in St. Peter, Minn.
He was born on Dec. 17, 1991, in Khartoum, Sudan. In 1999, Ater moved to Egypt with his mother and younger brothers. In 2000, they moved to Houston, Texas. In 2007 his mother passed away, and then he moved to Rochester with his brothers to live with their aunt.
Ater played basketball at Century High School and graduated in 2007. After graduation, he attended St. John's Military Academy in Milwaukee, Wis.
Survivors include two brothers, Akolda and Kangor Manyang; three aunts; one uncle; and very many cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Amer Jok.

Ater.. May you rest in peace. You always had that terrific smile on your face and could light up the room from your positive outlook. You are with your mom now so tell her some stories of your high school memories.. Let her know your brothers are doing ok and tell her the many stories of of what you did while you were here. I also wanted to say Atern I love you and will miss you.. tell we meet again...

After... Now you may rest in peace.. For the time we spent in your life we enjoyed the positive outlook you always had.. I'm so so sorry that you couldn't enjoy a family of your own someday. Please find your mother and tell her about the family you had here. Tell her about your brothers travels and the stories I know you have and how you always put them first.. Again I love you and now rest in pease..
