I remember Atticus from the BSD Early Ed Center, working with Shari on his educational plan and had the privilege of seeing him enjoying the outdoors about a year or so ago at a local park. He always had a song in his heart! Shari, you were an amazing parent and advocate for Atticus. My condolences to the family. May fond memories of your time with Atticus always fill your hearts.

I remember Atticus from my time working at the Sustainability Academy. Some days I got to have lunch with him and he really enjoyed hearing the music I would play for him on my ipad. He was a sweet guy! I am so sorry to his family for their loss.

I remember going on a hike with Atticus in 2015. I pointed to an arrow-shaped trail marker and asked him what it was - he told me it was a star. I corrected him and then spent a while teaching him to call that shape "arrow." He humored me, and called it an arrow a few times. Just when I thought I'd successfully taught him a new word, I heard him under his breath call the arrow "star." He preferred to see it that way and wouldn't let it be otherwise! He was always self-assured in a way I admired. I hope he is happy in his next life.
