Charles J. Hoffman

HOFFMAN, MR. CHARLES J. Saginaw, Michigan Beloved father and grandfather passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 at HCR Manor Care. Age 77 years. The son of the late Evart and Madeline (Summerfield) Hoffman, Charles was born January 25, 1936 in Zilwaukee, Michigan. He married Jeanette Dittmar on November 3, 1956. She predeceased him December 20, 2003. Charles was employed at General Motors for 32 years until his retirement. He was of the Catholic faith. Charles was an avid golfer and loved spending time with his family. Surviving are two sons, Claude T. Hoffman, Saginaw; Matthew E. and Laura Hoffman, Frankenmuth; two grandchildren, Alexandra and Rachel Hoffman; two sisters, Florabell Roberts and Donna Tinkham; many nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters, Hollis Hoffman, Madeline Johnson, Florence Forester, Zoe Stelzer and Lorna Hoffman. Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty). Rev. Fr. Richard E. Jozwiak will officiate with entombment in Chapel Hill Mausoleum. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will be present on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
