Aubrey Phillips

Aubrey Lee Phillips, 77, completed his earthly journey and entered eternal life on April 1, 2025, at Lavender Hills, Orange Campus. He was born December 27, 1947, in Alexandria, VA, to the late Aubrey Thomas Phillips and the late Emma Lee Wood Phillips Hitt.

Aubrey is survived by his wife, Gloria C Phillips, his daughters, Cynthia Workman (Dennis) and their children, Preslee and Willa, Crystal Jones and her sons, Levi and Preston and his son, Daniel Phillips, as well as step children Andrew Lohr (Meredith) and their children, Emma and Russell and Julie Lohr and her daughter, Olivia.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Diane E Phillips. Aubrey served his country in Vietnam while in the Air Force. He owned and operated ALWA Transporters, hauling goods up and down the East Coast. He worked selling utility, horse, and cattle trailers and enjoyed maintaining them. He also drove for Superior Trucking and enjoyed driving the Trolley in Culpeper. His most meaningful and fulfilling job was as a trooper with the Virginia State Police. He was underweight, and for months, he drank milkshakes and ate burgers, and on a snowy February morning, when he stepped on the scales and had hit the magic number, he told his Mom he was going to Richmond to join "Virginia's finest".

A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Adial Baptist Church Cemetery, 1090 Adial Rd, Faber, VA 22938, at 2:00 pm with Pastor Hosub Sung of the Little Fork Circuit, Culpeper, VA officiating and military honors provided by American Legion Post #16 of Lynchburg. Wells Sheffield Funeral Chapel in Lovingston, VA, is serving the family.
