Audrey E. Somers

Audrey E. Somers passed peacefully in her 92nd year on January 17, 2022, with her family by her side.  She was a wonderful wife, mom, grandmother and great-grandmother.  With a quick smile and sense of humor, laughter and love can be found in each memory. Born in Hamilton, Ontario Canada July 14, 1929 to Lulu and Henry Truscott, she was the youngest of 4 children, with beloved brothers Harold, Art and Clair. Married to the love of her life for 67 years, Ernest "Bud" Somers, they raised 4 boys.  Her love of being a wife and mother made homemaking first in her life, with jobs later that included secretarial work, school bus driver, and medical records technician.  She loved to sing and treasured her time in the Sweet Adelines.  Traveling the country with Bud as members of the Tennessee Cumberland Plateau Campground, she enjoyed the company of many friends. An avid quilter, her quilts are a beautiful reminder of the love, time and effort she put into making these family heirlooms. She was preceded in death by husband Bud and son Ronald.  Surviving family members include sons Martyn (Carol), St. Cloud, FL, Kenneth (Rhonda), DeLeon Springs, FL, and Alan (Mona), Navasota, TX; grandchildren Josh (Megan), Boynton Beach, FL, Rachel Erickson (Daniel), Conroe, TX, Alison (Christian), St. Cloud, FL, and Matthew, Lake Nona, FL; great granddaughters Leighton and Palmer Erickson (Rachel and Daniel), and Amelia (Josh and Megan).  She also is survived by beloved family members in Canada. No services are planned at this time.
