Aurele Riendeau Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 1, 2009.
RIENDEAU, Aurele It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Aurele Riendeau in Gatineau, on Sunday, August 30th 2009, at the age of 64. As a police officer for 39 years, mostly in Aylmer (Quebec), he touched the lives of many. He enjoyed every minute of his retirement traveling, golfing and spending precious time with those he loved. Son of the late Marie Priscille Frenette and the late Ivanhoe Riendeau, Aurele was the beloved spouse of Anita Boudreau and cherished father of Josee (Steven Howard) and Melanie (Daniel Laramee). He was the dear grandfather of Gabrielle, Jeremy and Dominique as well as Simon, Danika and Alexandre. Brother of Paul, Lise (Robert Dubeau), Rita (Maurice Boudreault) and Helene (Stephane Deschenes), he will also be missed by nieces, nephews and many friends. All are invited to visit on Wednesday, September 2, from 6 to 9 p.m. at FUNERARIUM BEAUCHAMP 47, Denise-Friend, Gatineau (Aylmer) 819-684-1155 A religious service will be held on Thursday, September 3 in Notre-Dame Cathedral (Sussex Drive, Ottawa), at 2 p.m. The family will receive condolences at the church reception hall, after the service. In memory of Aurele donations to the Canadian Heart Institute and the Canadian Diabetes Association will be appreciated. Messages of condolence can be sent to www.mem.com

Dear Josée and Steven,
I was deeply saddened to hear of your Dad’s passing. I worked with Aurèle at the Police station in Aylmer for almost 10 years and to me he was a down to earth guy and sympathetic too.

In Florida we kept missing each other, but he did raid my grapefruit tree, then one day we meet here in the parking lot of the shopping center in Aylmer and we talked for a good while, he seemed so happy retired, and he loved those grandkids.

He will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time, just keep the good memories.

I considered Aurele to be a good friend. He was a great contributor to our Tim Hortons golf group. He worked as a marshal at the Club de Golf Les Vieux Moulins and was always willing to accommodate. A positive guy who enjoyed life and was fun to be with. He will definitely be missed and ''WELL'' remembered.

Sincerely,
Hervé Lavallée
