Ava Marie Detore

my name is Betsy and I met Ava through a babysitting website. She babysat my boys both very young at the time- ages 4&5. I remember looking out the window seeing Ava helping my boys look at the cats and dogs in the window at a cat hospital and then a doggy daycare. She would bring my boys books and laugh with them. She loved them. Today I was wearing a sweatshirt form Fordham I asked her to buy for me, I gave her money for it bc I also went to Fordham and liked the sweatshirt on her. I thought of her and googled Ava Detore. I am deeply saddened to read that she passed away. I am in shock. Ava was loving, generous, kind, joyful, and dedicated to her family, her profession, and her dogs. She really loved being with my boys. I am so so sorry for this tremendous loss. Rest in peace, Ava. I hope you know you will never be forgotten. May your memory be a blessing.

I keep you with me everyday

I was not fortunate enough to spend a great deal of time with Ava in the short time that I knew her, however I felt that the time that we did spend together was a time that I will always remember as fruitful and inspiring. She immediately struck me as a wonderful young woman with a beautiful heart and a wonderful personality. The news of her passing was a great loss to many people close to me and I can only hope that the memory of her life will serve as an inspiration to those who were fortunate enough to call her a sister, a daughter, a cousin, a loved one or simply a friend. We will all miss you Ava, even those of us who did not know you well.
