Life-long local resident Mr Barry Kirkham (66), of Thoresby Drive, Edwinstowe was buried at the village's Forest cemetery after a service at nearby St Mary's Church.
Born at Larch Road, New Ollerton, Mr Kirkham, who was educated locally at Whinney Lane School, had worked as a maintainance fitter for Manson Brick for 40 years, retiring in 1998.
He loved football and was a player and secretary for Kirton Brickworks for 40 years. He also enjoyed watching all kinds of sport, solving crosswords, going on holidays and dining out, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Mr Kirkham, who died at his home, leaves his wife, Mrs Ann Kirkham, daughter Samantha, son Lee and two grandchildren, Jordan and Aaron.

Donations received from family and friends are for the Chemotherapy Welcome Centre at King's Mill Hospital, Sutton, and the British Red Cross.
The service was conducted by the Rev A. Fletcher, and arrangements were by Robert Woodhead Ltd.
