Badri Nahvi Johnson, PhD

Passed away peacefully at home on February 20, 2015. Preceded in death by her Parents & Five Siblings. Survived by her Loving Husband of 54 years, Floyd M.; Children, Rebecca Lee, Robert Plesha, Nancy Thomas & Shahla Tipp; 8 Grandchildren & 5 Great-Grandchildren. Dr. Johnson was born on December 1, 1933 in Tehran, Iran but spent nearly all her life in St. Paul where she raised her children & received her graduate degrees from the University of Minnesota. She taught Sociology & Anthropology at Anoka Ramsey Community College from 1973 until 2003 when she was forced to retire due to health issues. She is a subject of biographical record in The Marquis Who's Who in America; inclusion in which is limited to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in their own fields of endeavor & who have, thereby, contributed significantly to the betterment of contemporary society. In the 1990s Badri & Floyd became involved in local & national politics & were invited on several occasions to the White House as guests of President & Mrs. Bill Clinton. She was loved dearly & will be greatly missed. Visitation, Saturday, February 28 at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery, 803 Larpenteur Avenue W., Roseville. Service at Noon with a luncheon to follow. Private interment.
