Age 77, of Claymont, DE, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2008, at the Wilmington Hospital.
He was the husband of Betsy Grove Nejako, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage. Born in Kingston, PA, he was the son of the late Frank A, Sr. and Pauline Puhlick Nejako. Frank was a chemistry teacher for the Brandywine School District, retiring in 1983 after 25 years of service. Mr. Nejako served as a Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He graduated from East Stroudsburg State College in Pennsylvania, received his Masters Degree from Penn State University and did graduate work at Cornell University. He was a member of the Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity and the Delaware Retired School Personnel Association. Mr. Nejako was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Claymont.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 1 daughter, Elizabeth Nejako of Wilmington, DE; 2 sons, Frank R. Nejako and his wife, Beverly of Fairfax, VA, and David G. Nejako and his wife, Susan of Lansdale, PA; 5 grandchildren, Frannie, Matthew, Laura, Abigail and Steven; his twin brother, Mark Nejako and his wife, Nancy of Ashton, MD; and his brother-in-law, Glenn Grove and his wife, Joanne of Birmingham, AL.
The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Forwood Manor for the excellent care they provided to Frank, and special thanks to Dr. Charles Hill and James Edmondson for their support and encouragement.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE, at 11 am Friday morning, September 5, 2008. You may visit with the family on Thursday evening, September 4, 2008, from 7-9 pm at the Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, 100 West 10th Street, Suite 1002, Wilmington, DE 19801.
