Barbara Cottle Aldrich

WALLINGFORD - Barbara (Cottle) Aldrich, 83, formerly of Saw Mill Drive, departed this life on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at her home in Ashlar Village. Barbara was born on September 29, 1927, in New York, NY, a daughter of the late Barnard and Evelyn (Davis) Cottle. Barbara grew up and spent her early adult life in Rowayton, CT, having lived on both Wilson Avenue and Crest Road. She graduated Cum Laude from Bates College and was a member of the Class of 1949. She had been active with the Women's Fellowship at the First Congregational Church of Wallingford.

She will be sadly missed by: her son, Samuel Aldrich of Hamden; two brothers; Roger Cottle of South Windsor; and Owen Cottle of New York; nephews; Owen, Jr., Donald and Christopher Cottle, all of New York, and John Eiby of Trumbull; nieces: Diane Geiss of Wallingford, Cathy Stymacks and Suzanne O'Rourke of New York, and Lauren Magnuson of New Hampshire.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 10, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Congregational Church, 23 South Main St., Wallingford. There are no calling hours. Burial will be private. It is suggested that memorial contributions be directed to the National MS Society, Connecticut Chapter, 659 Tower Ave., First Floor, Hartford, CT 06112. The B.C.
