Barbara Ann (Campbell) Blair

Barbara Ann Blair (née Campbell), age 95, of Park Ridge, Illinois, (formerly of Whitefish Bay and Sturgeon Bay, WI) passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 24, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Floyd V. Blair, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage.

Barbara is survived by her five children: Kathleen Blair; Diane Blair; Kevin (Melanie) Blair; Janet (Michael) Hagen; and James (Donna) Blair. She was the proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren and cherished great-grandmother of 17.

Born in Syracuse, NY, in 1929 to Vernon E. Campbell and Hazel M. Campbell (née Clark), Barbara earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Syracuse University in 1953. She later continued her education, beginning graduate studies at the University of Michigan before earning her Master's degree from University of Wisconsin Milwaukee in 1973.

Her professional life was dedicated to nursing education. In a career spanning more than 40 years, she mentored countless students, retiring in 1995, most recently as a faculty member at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee School of Nursing.

Barbara and her late husband, Floyd shared a love of sailing and boating, spending many happy summers with their children navigating the waters of Lake Michigan, Lake Erie, Lake Ontario and beyond. Beyond her professional and family life, Barbara will be remembered for her lively spirit, her love of gatherings, and her remarkable ability to always look forward with joy and optimism.

Barbara leaves behind a legacy of devotion to family, passion for nursing and education, and a zest for life that inspired all that knew her.
