I remember Barbara Kay so often, and acknowledged her help in my book, Whole Wheat Bread from Mama's Kitchen which she read during her last months of earthly life. Her feedback on the book and enduring friendship over the years continue to be a constant reminder of the lovely person we knew.

So sorry to hear the news. Barbara and I were roommates in Corpus Christi in 1959 to the end of 1960 when I got married. We first lived in the Clairelane Apts where she met Stan and also in the Ocean Drive Apts, where I met my husband, Al. We had so much fun and so many wonderful memories. We visited her in McKinney several years ago and had lots of fun talking about our Corpus Christi days. She was a wonderful person and a great friend.

OF COURSE YOU KNOW ABOUT THE FUN TIMES IN NEW BRAUNFELS. WE HAD MANY LONG PHONE TALKS OVER THE YEARS. I WILL ALWAYS MISS HER AND AM GRATEFUL FOR OUR LONG FRIENDSHIP.

Barbara and I go back to Wichita Falls days. When we transferred to Corpus Christi I immediately joined her sorority. In fact she gave birth to Alex & Murray same day I had Lori. To date we use her recipe for brownies. Lots of fond memories---will be missed.Irene Crass

I have considered BK to be a very good friend since our Jr. High school days in Stamford. We have shared a lot of good times & bad. So many memories of our lives from being giggling schoolgirls to grandmothers! I will miss the notes, e-mails and phone calls but will always cherish the memories of a long and very special friendship. Rest in peace, BK.. We love you & will miss you.

She was without a doubt the BEST neighbor I've ever had. I remember my first Christmas in momand dads home, she brought over yummy baked goods, gave me her phone number, and always called and we sat outside every summer night. LOVE her! She will be missed.

I have known Barbara Kay ever since she joined our class in Stamford Junior High. We were friends all through high school and enjoyed many joys and sorrows of our teenage years. She and I continued to stay in touch through all the years and shared a love of music, art, and literature. I'll really miss her, the e-mails, and the phone calls we shared. She loved you, her family. May she continue to live in our hearts.
