Barbara Laflin Ericksen, 56, of Reno, NV, passed away Saturday July 23rd at Renown South Meadows Hospital in Reno after a long illness. Celebration of Life will be Sunday July 31st, 2:00 pm at Eskaton Village Recreation Building, 625 Eskaton Circle, Grass Valley, CA. The daughter of Raymond and Helen Laflin, Barbara was born and raised in San Jose, CA. She was Assistant Manager, Cashiers Office at UNR. Barbara loved being a mom to her three boys, was active in scouting, and was a 38-year member of PEO. A gifted singer, she sang with the Sierra Nevada Masterworks Chorale and appeared frequently as a soloist. She created beautiful quilts, crafts and art, and was a wonderful cook. She is survived by sons Brian Ericksen of Reno, Matthew Ericksen, with U.S. Navy in Saesabo, Japan, and Chris Ericksen of Reno; her mother, Helen Laflin of Grass Valley, CA; her brother, Ray (Colleen Leatherland) Laflin, Jr. of Grass Valley, CA; and cousins Bill (Jan), Ben (Julianne) and Eve (Ron Wiley) Allaway and their families.
