Barbara Grossman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 2, 2017.
Grossman, Barbara Gloria (Kolomer),

83, passed away on March 23, 2017, surrounded by her family. Family and friends mourn her passing. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 13, 1933 to Albert and Ruth Kolomer. Barbara and her husband lived in Paramus, NJ until 2004 when they relocated to Louisville, KY.

She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Grossman and granddaughter, Rebecca Rothballer.

Devoted to her Jewish faith and her family, Barbara was always grateful for her long life. She had a gift of making everyone she meets feel comfortable. Don't let the tough "New Yorker" trick you as she always was ready to make someone smile with either a "gesture" or a token of love.

She is survived by her daughters, Stacey Grossman Rothballer (William) of Pewee Valley and Wendy Grossman Kroner (Evan) of New York; and her grandchildren, Jessica Kroner, Aaron Rothballer, and Sarah Rothballer. Throughout the years, Barbara has "adopted" friends as her own family. One special "son", Stuart Burrows, (Anna) has always remained close and dear.

The family would like to send special thanks to Dr. Glenn Lambert, and those who have been there for mom and us and have helped to enrich her life. Mom was always up for a baseball or softball game, or just a gathering of friends. Thank you!

The funeral took place in New Jersey with burial following in Beth-El Cedar Park, Paramus NJ. A celebration of Barbara's life will be planned at a later date in Louisville, KY. Donations can be made to: Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation "Fund A Cure" or a charity of the donor's choice.

I know Mrs. Grossman is now happy and although she will be missed, I am very happy for her.
Being allowed to care for her in her later years and getting to know part of the family was such a joy. Bless you Stacy, you had a great Mom.

Mrs Grossman was my teacher in my class '72. She was funny, interesting, tough on the outside and soft on the inside. She was the best Teacher I ever had. Thanks Mrs. Grossman for all the life lessons you taught me.
