Barbara Ann Haase, 88

Barbara passed away July 2, 2024 in Hampshire, IL. Born to George and Lydia Lazansky on May 15, 1936 in Elgin, IL and pre-deceased by her husband Bob in 2021, Barb lived a full life adored by her family and the many friends she made along the way.

A graduate of Dundee HS and attendee of Northern Illinois University, Barb began her working career as an elementary school teacher in Algonquin, IL before making several moves with her family to Minnesota, Connecticut, Michigan and back to Illinois.

Barb was always active, be it the PTA, Church, keeping active with her sons' athletic endeavors, working in the Fashion Walk shops in Geneva, IL or rooting for her beloved Chicago Cubs.

Affectionately known as Granny to her grandkids, Barb was always there to encourage and spoil them and was a very special part of their lives.

Barb is survived by her brother George (JoAnn) Lazansky of Algonquin, IL and sons John (Michelle) of Wilmington, NC, Craig (Nancy) of Fort Mill, SC, and Jay (Erica) of Hampshire, IL, along with grandchildren Elizabeth (Forrest) Smith of Raleigh, NC, Caroline (Ryan) Markwood of Richmond, VA, Patrick (Julie) Haase of Boston, MA, Lydia Haase of Charlotte, NC and Susannah (Matt) Biggs of Clarksville, TN.
