"Mrs. Tavener" to me, she was my second grade teacher in 1964-1965, and of all the teachers I had at Trinity Episcopal School from Kindergarten to sixth grade, she was definitely one of my favorites. Very fair & straightforward. Her best advice to me, when I'd gotten myself into trouble again, was, "You need to learn how to look before you leap," although I'm not sure her solemn pronouncement was ever taken to heart.
