Barbara Jean Blackwell Harris, 83, of Columbus, Ohio, sunrise December 20, 1941

sunset August 15, 2025 in Marietta Georgia.

She was preceded in death by her parents Wilson and Mary Lue Blackwell, husband, Tillman Harris, Jr., and her siblings Randall, Eugene, and Richard Harper, and Bernard Blackwell.

She was a 1960 graduate of East High School in Columbus, Ohio. She worked over 40 years at RG Barry before retiring. She was a lifelong member of Union Grove Baptist Church and the Angelic Choir. She was also the founded The Columbus Steppers Line Dance Club and taught dance classes for several years. Known for her warm spirit, laughter, and love of people, she was a faithful friend, a generous soul, and a devoted mother and grandmother.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Kimberly Blackwell and James Harris; grandchildren Quinton (Sharieka), Jalaun, Tucker, and Ayreona; nieces Eugenia "Chickie" Harper and Elysse Smith; nephew Randall Harper II; sister Alimeta "Bonnie" Evans; along with many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

The Family of Barbara Jean (Blackwell) Harris acknowledges with sincere gratitude and appreciation all acts of sympathy, kindness, and prayers during the bereavement of our loved one. We are truly thankful and may God continue to bless each and every one of you.

A repast and celebration of life will take place on Saturday, September 6, at 1:00 p.m. at Golden Corral, 4750 E Main St, Whitehall, OH 43213.
