POUGHKEEPSIE - Barbara J Hildenbrand, 81, of the Town of LaGrange, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on August 7, 2017 at Vassar Brother's Medical Center. Barbara was born in Mount Kisco, NY on June 17, 1936, daughter of William & Kathleen Herbert Brown.
After completing her nursing degree at the Mt. Vernon Hospital School of Nursing, Barbara served as a Labor and Delivery nurse for Vassar Brother's Medical Center for twenty-three years. Throughout her career, not only her patients, but also her colleagues recognized her for herprofessionalism, passion and devotion. Barbara married her husband of 58 years, Francis J Hildenbrand, on April 4, 1959 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Mount Kisco, NY.Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her children and grandchildren were her life.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Francis J Hildenbrand Sr., three children, two sisters, seven grandchildren & four great grandchildren:
Francis Hildenbrand Jr and wife Nancy of Wappingers Falls, NY Sandy Hoff and husband Brian of Poughkeepsie,NY, Terence Hildenbrand and wife Raecyne of Poughkeepsie, NY. Sisters; Carol DePaoli of Carmel, NY and Patricia Tompkins of Houston, Texas. Grandchildren; Nicole Ferrara, Eric Hildebrand, Byron Hildenbrand, Brad Hildenbrand, Jennifer Hoff, Kevin Hoff, and Zachary Hildebrand. Great Grandchildren; Maddox, Mason, Adrianna and Kylie. She was predeceased by her brother, John Brown and sister, Kathleen Brown.
Visitation will be Friday, August 11, 2017 4-8pm at the William G Miller & Son Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 10 am at St. Mary's Church, 11 Clinton St, Wappingers Falls, NY12590. Inurnment will follow in the Community Mausoleum at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
