Barbara Holland Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 13, 2025.
Barbara Gail Holland, known affectionately as "Boo" to her closest family and friends, was born in Portland, Oregon, to Walter and Dorothy Higgins. She grew up alongside her older brother, Don, in The Dalles and Portland, and graduated from Sunset High School. She later attended Portland State University, where she studied business.

Through mutual friends, she met and then married her beloved husband, Ken Holland. The two built their life together in Portland, where they were deeply involved in their community. After working for several years at Tektronix alongside her husband, Barbara dedicated her life to raising her two children, Erin and Brian.

Barbara's faith shaped the way she loved those around her. She was an active member of Valley Community Presbyterian Church, Sunset Church, and Lake Grove Presbyterian Church, where she developed many lifelong friendships and found great joy in serving others and volunteering for local charities.

She cherished time spent with family and friends creating treasured memories during vacations to Sunriver, Cannon Beach, Skamania Lodge and more. Barbara's warmth, kindness, and humor touched everyone who knew her.

Barbara passed away on May 30, 2025 and will be deeply missed by her husband, Ken, her children, grandchildren and many dear friends and extended family members.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Stanford Alzheimer's Disease Research Center. A private celebration of Barbara's life will be held this summer.
