Barbara Huscroft Obituary
Barbara Ann "Bobbie" Huscroft, 83, of Stow, Ohio, passed away March 8, 2014.
She married her high school sweetheart, James D. "Whitey" Huscroft, in 1951 and raised eight children in Silver Lake, Ohio. Whitey and Bobbie joined Holy Family in 1955 and were dedicated members of the parish for over 50 years. She was actively involved at Walsh Jesuit High School since its inception. She dedicated her adult life to the Battered Women's Shelter volunteering for over 20 years; she also volunteered with her husband Whitey at Good Neighbors.
Preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; a sister; her husband, James D. "Whitey" Huscroft; her son, Thomas Huscroft; and daughter, Catherine Shipley (Huscroft); she is survived by her children, Mike of Phoenix, Arizona, Mark (Sarah) of Silver Lake, Jim (Mary) of Indianapolis, Ind., John (Cyndi) of Mesa, Arizona, Rick (Maureen) of Kent, and Barb (Gene) Leonard of Suffolk, Va.; daughter-in-law, Heidi Huscroft; son-in-law. Dave Shipley; 23 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Stow Chapel (Kent Rd. at Rt.91). Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. PROCESSION WILL FORM AT THE CHURCH. Interment will be at Standing Rock Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Battered Women's Shelter, 974 E. Market St., Akron, Ohio 44304. To all the Huscroft family
Your Mom was quite a character, I remember being afraid of her , she definitely let her opinion be known. But most of all she was the one who encouraged and sort of , expected me, to go into nursing school. She was quite the advocate for education. I am blessed to have known her and how proud she was of all her children. Sending love and prayer ,

I am sorry for your loss, it is never the right time but now she is in the right place. It's funny I never knew your mom's name or your fathers name. When we were young it was always Mr. & Mrs. Huscroft and we got older it was Whitey and Bobbi. You were all so lucky to have such wonderful parents and I am sure you have wonderful memories.
