Barbara Kelly Obituary
She was born Aug. 23, 1935 to Raymond S. and Dorothy I. Ford Bentson in Sioux City, Iowa. She grew up in Sioux City and graduated from East High School.
Barb married James L. Stead Jr. and together they had three children, Rhonda, Christopher and Daniel. They were later divorced. She married Donald G. Kelly on June 9, 1984 in Boulder, Colo.
She worked in the banking industry in loan operations. Barb was a member of the Christ Cowboy Country Church. She enjoyed gardening, decorating, church, volunteering, camping and bowling. She also enjoyed being a member of the Red Hat Society.
Barb is survived by her husband, Don; her children, Rhonda (Marion) Doane, Arvada, CO, Christopher Stead, Lake Isabella, Calif. and Daniel (Kathleen) Stead, Pinedale, Wyo.; her step-children Jason (Sarah) Kelly, Arvada, Colo.; Donna (Dave) Wedow, Bailey, Colo.; sister Sherree Ogren, Marcus, Iowa; brother Don (Loretta) Bentson, Sioux City, Iowa; and sister Sonja (Steve) Ohl, Salix, Iowa; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Gordon and Bruce Bentson; grandson Ryan Stead; granddaughter Jessica Sanders and her spouse, Chase Sanders; brother-in-law Jerry Ogren; and ex-husband James Stead Jr.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5 at Hawker Funeral Home. Family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family at: www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to the American Cancer Society, Relay For Life.

Dear Rhonda, Alesia and family,
Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. I had a privilege of meeting Barb in person a few years ago at Austin's graduation, but I feel like I have known her for years and years before, from all the wonderful memories and stories Alesia has shared with me. Barb has played such a critical role in Alesia's life, but also in the lives of many others she has touched. She was a very special lady. I pray tonight that she rests in peace, and that the family that remains behind finds peace as well.

I will always remember absolute class that she brought with her.
