Barbara LaCien Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Dec. 4 to Dec. 6, 2022.
Barbara Moore LaCien of Dyer, IN formerly of Dolton, IL passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022. Beloved mother of Michael LaCien; cherished grandmother of Matthew and Grace LaCien; fond sister of Gale (late Larry) Cordell and brothers James (late Mary) Moore and William (Mary) Moore; fiancé of John Griffin of Chicago, IL; devoted aunt to Chad Cordell and Ashley (Cordell) Cook; Kevin, Will, and Paige Moore; Eric and Brian Moore. Barbara was preceded in death by her loving parents James and Belle Moore. In addition to climbing the ranks at Sherwin Williams for 48 years and retiring as a chemist, Barbara was a kindred spirit and each life she touched is richer for it. Barbara's legacy lives in her priorities: love for the Lord, love for family, love for animals. Barbara will be deeply missed by family and friends. "For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed." (Romans 8:18) Barbara lived a good life and the family is comforted knowing Barbara is at peace and is face to face with the King of kings. "Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy." (John 16:20) Plans for a Celebration of Barbara's life will be announced at a later time. In lieu of flowers, contributions to provide for proper care for animals, such as ASPCA, in her memory would be appreciated.

I am so saddened by Barbara's passing. She always greeted me with a smile when I visited the Grant St home. She is now with her parents and all her beloved family in heaven.
